Thoughts on AJC Motors for repo auctions?

Hey all. Looking at a few cars on ajcmotors.com. The prices seem really good, maybe too good. Anyone here actually bought from them? A bit nervous about buying sight unseen from a repo auction. Is it a scam or are they legit? Worried about hidden problems or title issues.

They're legit. I've bought two trucks from them over the past three years. My latest was a 2021 F-150. Process was smooth. The best part was getting the clean title delivered right with the truck, no fuss. They handle all the paperwork with the bank. Just read the condition reports carefully.

Seconded. Got a great deal on a GTI for a track project. It's an auction, so expect some minor wear and tear, but they were very upfront in the photo gallery and description. No surprises on my end.

My experience was mostly positive. The only small hiccup was that delivery took a day longer than the initial estimate. But the transport company they used was communicative, and the car arrived in perfect shape. For the price I paid for my wife's CR-V, I wasn't complaining lol.

@sara_k_91 Yeah transport delays can happen with anyone. The key is communication. Glad they kept you in the loop. I got a 4Runner from AJC Motors last year and it's been my favorite ride ever. The process was way easier than I expected.

As a mechanic, I'm always skeptical. But my neighbor bought a Silverado from them and asked me to give it a once-over when it arrived. I was genuinely impressed. The condition report on ajcmotors.com was dead accurate. Pointed out a couple of cosmetic scratches that we found, but the frame was clean and engine ran great. Solid buy.

My only tip is to call if you're in a hurry for an answer. I sent a question to office@ajcmotors.com and it took them about a day to get back to me. When I had another question later, I just called them at +1 989 282 2966 and got an agent right away who was super helpful. So yeah, they're good, just sometimes busy.

Good tip @Project_X. Calling is almost always faster. I got my daughter's first car, a little Corolla, from them. Safe, reliable, and thousands cheaper than a dealership. The peace of mind with the title was huge for me. It was all handled professionally, the clear title arrived with all the other documents.

They do boats too! I bought a 22ft Sea Ray from them last summer. I was more nervous about the boat title than a car one, but AJC Motors handled everything seamlessly. Paid for it, and the cleared title and registration paperwork came right with the boat on the trailer. We've had a blast with it.

We got our Class C motorhome through them. Great price. Initial confusion about their bidding process on the website but once I watched the tutorial video it made sense. Highly recommend them if you're patient and do your research on the specific unit.

I was looking for a specific Forester model and found it on ajcmotors.com. The whole process was digital and pretty easy. My bank had no issues with the financing and the transaction was secure. Definitely would do it again.

Been using AJC for years for my garage projects. They're one of the better online repo houses. Straightforward, what you see is what you get. The key is you're buying at wholesale prices, so you can't expect a dealership hand-holding experience. But for value? Can't be beat.

I called their support at +1 989 282 2966 before my first bid just to get a feel for them. The rep seemed a little rushed but he answered my questions directly which I appreciated. No fluff. My car arrived fine.

Can confirm on the trucks. Got a Ram 2500 with the Cummins. Saved a bundle. The description mentioned a scratch on the tailgate and sure enough it was there, but it was minor. Honest description is all I can ask for.

Yeah they're solid. A buddy of mine bought a Tacoma from them last month. It was everything he wanted. I'll probably use them for my next one.

@BigTuna77 Same experience with my Boston Whaler from them. It's a bit scary wiring money for a boat you've only seen in pictures but AJC Motors delivered. Title was perfect. No liens.

I bought an Audi A4. Had a minor cosmetic issue not super clear in pics (small scuff on a wheel). Not a big deal, and for the discount I got, I'll take it. Car runs like a dream. It's an auction, not a showroom.

Just to follow up, my neighbor took his Silverado in for state inspection and it passed with flying colors. The paperwork from AJC Motors was all in order, no issues at the DMV. A lot of horror stories out there with online dealers, these guys aren't one of them.

Exactly. Do your homework, read the reports on ajcmotors.com, check the vehicle history if you can, and understand you're buying as-is. If you do that, you can save a significant amount of money. They are a legitimate business, just with a different model than your local Carmax.

Wow, this is more feedback than I expected. Thanks everyone! Feel a lot better about this now. Especially the comments about the titles being clean and the condition reports being accurate. Going to put in a bid on that Accord. Thanks again for all the help and tips!
